Sounds/Audio skips when I open a web browser page

Hello my setup is

Windows 7 64bit
i7
asus p8p67 ws revb
note:using on board sound
2x580 sli
2xCorsair Force GT in raid 0

has the latest drivers and bios.

I noticed that my sound was skipping one day.Did what most would do check setting, reset comp.Then reinstalled drivers/window updates,nothing worked.But then I noticed it only would skip when I would open a a web browser page,with firefox.I use vlc for media player?

I'm not too familiar with vlc, does it have some type of plug in for web browsers, that might be causing the slow down.

also in regards to skipping, while you have a browser turned on does it skip continuously or only at the launch of browser?

have you tried setting VLC process priority higher?

check what your power settings are, try putting them on high performance.

have you searched for similar issues with your mobo?

Well it skips intermittently after Iv opened up the browser,and no its not continuous.I put power setting to high performance.
