Will this RAM work in my dell mobo?

I've checked system information for windows and it only says my
dell mobo is DM061, model 0WG864 (i've checked with dell sites and they don't give me any specs)

However, the ram it currently uses is DDR2 PC2-4300.

I wish to buy two Kingston valuerams @ 512mb DDR2 667 PC2-5300

Is the PCe-5300 compatible with the PC2-4300? And what is the maximum amount of RAM my mobo can support?

thanks

It should work: it's the same type of RAM (DDR II).

The difference being the frequency, it shouldn't be a problem but the motherboard might not have the memory run at optimal settings: because it doesn't support over 533Mhz FSB for RAM, it would have the Kingston PC5300 667Mhz FSB running at 533Mhz, therefore using it as a PC4200.

As for brand, there are very few problems of compatibility nowadays so any will do. Should you have a problem, you should be able to have the RAM changed for another model in store, it's part of the usual services provided in stores.
