So I'm looking to rebuild my pc with a new case, motherboard, power supply my current pc is a Dell XPS 720

QX6800
4GB Corsair Ram
4x 320GB Drives in Raid 0
2x Nvidia 8800 Ultra in SLI
etc etc

I'm looking at just replacing the motherboard, case and power supply so I can upgrade CPU, Ram, Video Cards at some point down the road (3-4 months)

These are the parts I have been looking at I'm looking for some feedback

ASUS Striker II Extreme LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

ASUS Silent Square EVO 92mm Vapo Bearing CPU Cooler - Retail

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

I figure I will get a few months later ( note the last time I built my own system was dual Pentium Pro so I'm a bit rusty)
Dual GTX 280 Video Cards
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400)
Intel QX9770

Well the mobo you are buying requires DDR3 so that is sort of a must buy now. Everything you have picked are good parts. The hsfu I have an issue with. It would be worth while to invest in a better hsfu than that one.

Also, are you aware that Core i7 will be out in a month or if not a little over it? You may want to hold off if you can.

wow good to know on the ram. Ok so first whats a hsfu? and can you provide me some suggestions on a better one :) and no I didn't know about the core i7 (assuming it a new Intel Line) going to read up on it so I may just wait

Hsfu= heatsink fan unit. If you are going to wait out for Core i7 I would hold off on a new hsfu since the socket is different and the chip is physically a different size.
