Missing hd partition

Hello there,

I have 1.5 tb seagate hd in 2 partitions: c and d. For wired reason, i lost drive letter d: and can not access to d: drive. I can see the contents inside from a software, but it is read only. How am i supposed to bring it back?

Please help.

Thanks.

  1. It might have been unmounted. Go to Computer Management, and find Disk Management. There you can assign a drive letter to the second partition by right clicking it and selecting "Change/Assign Drive Letter or Path" or something similar.

Thank you guys for your reply. i was not able to change drive letter as you have suggested. Instead, i use a test disk software ,which is a cool command line tool, and it restores my lost partition. Thank you anyway.
