I want to SLI/crossfire a nVidia GeForce 9800GTX+ PCI Express x16 512MB DDR3, DX10 W/Dual DVI-I, HDTV-OUT , later.

IS THERE A BIG DIFFRINCE IN DDR2 OR DDR3 WHEN IT COMES TO HI END GAMING????

Well for a start the 2nd one's useless if you're going SLI because it has a P45 chipset which doesn't support it. In fact, same goes for the X48 chipset board.

If you want 2 graphics cards on either of those machines you're looking at picking up an ATI HD4870.

Either way, I'd go for the X48 board. While it's a little more expensive, DDR2 ram is cheaper than DDR3, with very little difference in performance from what I've seen.
