Going to buy a new build in a week or so and i am planning on overclocking it. Will only do moderate overclocking since i dont really know much about it, expect i will only bump up the FBS ( i think thats is) a few notches without touching voltage etc.

Anyways, i need help to decide if i need aditional cooling in addition to what comes as stock. Have choosen the following build.

Main board :

ASUS P7P55D Premium, P55, Socket-1156 DDR3, ATX, 2xGbLAN, Firewire, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16

CPU :

INTEL CORE I7-860 2.80GHZ SKT1156 FSB1333 8MB CACHE BOXED IN

RAM :

Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 1600MHz 4GB Kit w/2x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL7-7-7-20, 1.65V, for AMD Phenom II, 240pin

GPU: (May buy a 2nd card and run them in crossfire later)

Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort, 850/1200MHz, "Dirt 2", Full

PSU :

Corsair HX 850W PSU ATX 12V V2.2, 80 Plus Silver, Modular, 6x 6+2-pin PCIe, 12x SATA, 140mm

Case (Still undecided, but most likely this one):

CORSAIR FULL TWR OBSIDIAN SERIES 800D PC CASE (Fans: 1x 140mm Front, 1x 140mm Bottom, 1x 140mm Back, 4x SATA hot-)

So i guess i only need a more decent cooler for the cpu then?

3-3.2 ghz is possible possible on the standard cpu cooler anything above that get a better cpu cooler the CM 212 is currently the best value cooler, on other cooling well the rest is kinda good the gpu cooling is good just get a case with good airflow the 800d aint too good in that area

Hmmm, didnt know that the 800d had bad airflow. Would really appriciate it if someone could recommend some cases with sufficiently good airflow.

Hehe, yeah can imagine that the 2nd one should be considered. Anyways, i have build to computers before, both though only with stock cooling, and those fans are easy to install.

Looks like people recommend the CM 212, so guess ill buy one of those considering i will only do some moderate overclocking, but before i order it, is it easy or difficult to install that one?

You may also like to have a look at the P7P55D-E MB's, same as the one you listed but has an updated socket, USB3 & Sata6 capability (may come in handy sometime in the future).
