I am about to buy some new ram and new egg says that a OCZ Vista Upgrade 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory will work with a dell E510. I thought it looked kind of odd because most of the ram new egg said that will work with a dell E510 are the DDR2 667 (PC2-5300 through 5400. Why would the OCZ one work with the dell e510 if it has faster speeds? If it is faster and if it will work with a dell E510 than I will get 4Giggs of the OCZ ram. What do you guys think. What should I do.

You can put DDR2-800 in a DDR2-667 machine because it's detected as DDR2-667. All memory comes with a separate chip that stores configuration data for motherboard BIOS to read, and most DDR2-800 also includes DDR2-667 and DDR2-533 data.
