Hi, I have a problem. My harddrive has a Sata connector but my motherboard does not have the Sata socket to connect it too, it just shows sata 1 and sata 2 painted on the motherboard but with no sockets to plug anything in. It says I should connect the HD to the IDE 1 slot but what kind of connector do I need to do that? Heres a link to the following motherboard that I own but unlike the one shown mine doesn't have the Sata sockets.

Why not return it and get an IDE disk drive instead? If you can't, then you could get a SATA to IDE adapter, but I wouldn't really trust that solution. Connecting an IDE disk to a SATA port through an adapter seems to work, but the reverse can be problematic. A better solution is to buy a quality SATA controller.
