Creative Extreme Music Only Shows 2.1 for options

I have a Dell XPS 420 running Vista and I installed an older Creative Xi Fi Extreme Music sound card. When I run the sound I'm only getting sound from the front 2 speakers. When I go into the Creative app I only get an option for 2.1 not for any of the other many speaker config options... I have downloaded a couple of the newer Vista drivers but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks!

CHOOK - Thanks. I have the Logitech Z-5300 (can be config to 2/4.1/5.1 and the switch remains at 5.1) and all the output/inputs are connected like they were on my old XP Dell machine when they all worked.

GAMER - Thanks as well. I don't think it's capped at 2.1 as I thought I had all functionality on the old Dell machine the card had been installed in which was running XP.

I downloaded a couple of the newer Vista drivers but the driver rev I'm seeing everywhere is 6.0.1.1361 dated 7/15/2008 which is odd as I have downloaded, installed and rebooted the following two updates:
SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0004 JULY 30 2008 REL Date
SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006 MAR 14 2008 REL Date

I have looked everywhere including everywhere in the Vista Control Panel -->Sound options as well as any Creative Console apps I have including Creative Audio Console, Creative System Info which tells me:

Product name: Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Description: Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Creative Product ID: 01 11 04 60 00 00 00 B3
Driver version: 2. 18. 4
