I'm getting a CRT screen, simply because i get better quality at lower price compared to a cheap and inexpensive LCD. I know they're not that bad, but i don't have the cash to get quality. And my rig is pure gaming, nothing more.

I'm just wondering if i'm missing anything with having a CRT screen with a high end GPU. Any compatibility issues, missing interfaces/ports ? There's this HDMI cable wich i'm not really sure what it's for. Understand that the last game i played on a computer was EQ ruins of kunark and CS 1.6

ASUS HD4850 package
# 1 x DVI to D-Sub adapter
# 1 x DVI to HDMI adapter
# 1 x HDTV-out cable
# 1 x CrossFire cable
# 1 x Power cable

SONY MULTISCAN 21 INCH .24MM TRINITRON MONITOR PN: CPD-G500 (Getting this 100 $ CAD used)
Maximum Resolution: 2048x1536 at 75Hz; 1600x1200 at 85Hz recommended
Input Connectors: 15-pin mini D-sub and 5-pin BNC

BTW, can the ASUS GPUs usually handle well OC ?

Thanks for the infos !

Ive stuck with CRT simply because I don't like being confined to a certain Resolution, and the quality is superb..and they are relatively cheap too(Used and Refurbed). The only thing you are missing is Widescreen.....and some desktop real estate.

Thanks

And would you consider the Dell UltraScan P1110 21" as a good CRT monitor ?
What about the trinitron ones, Sony or Dell, does it matter ? I basically can chose right now between a 21" Sony Trinitron, a 21" Dell trinitron, and a Dell Ultrascan P1110 21". All used and refurbed, about the same price. The Sony does look a bit older though...

Thanks for the help

i have a 21" sony trenitron direct from sony dual imputs if u want to buy 70$ in canada(toronto), but mainly add a few more bucks and get yourself a 100-150$ used lcd, won't heart your eye's and 5ms and bigger 21" crt is only 19.8 viewable

1 21" Sony CPD-G520P FD , 1 17" nec and 1 17" viewsonic(not trenitron but flat)
all must go 130 for all 3

The Dell monitors(CRT ones) are Sony made. Especially the ones that say Trinitron.....like mine

I googled the Dell Ultrascan P1110 and I'm getting results for CRT, and an old looking one too.

The Dell 21" Trinitron is probably identical to mine....Ill post a pic of it...you tell me.

I paid 127 for mine @ Accurateit.com and Picked it up at their warehouse in Columbus Ohio since its only a little over an hour away from me. Its a fraction smaller than my dead Compaq P1220 22" but I like it.

I paid $60 for the P1220 awesome deal...it lasted about 1-2yrs...

Anyway I'd go for the Dell Trinitron if it is like mine.

Yeah it's the same.

I get to choose between this http://www.amazon.com/Sony-CPD-G50 [...] B00005JTB9 or the Dell Trinitron P1130
