Hello, i hope that i am not repeating a pre asked question, but what is the difference between these motherboards:

Q35,Q45,P35,P45

Cuz i am building a new gaming pc, and i have a tight budget: :fou:

q6600
8800GT
2GB ddr2
550W psu

which motherboard is the right one for these specs?

and is q45 enough?

THX alot ;)

Any of those chipsets will work fine. The asus p5q-se plus and p5q-se/r both have rebates at newegg. If you need onboard video, look at the g43 and g45 chipset boards. I use the asrock p45ts-r, which is only $78 plus shipping. I also have an asrock g43 fullhd with hdmi support built in. You just have to decide what features you need, and if you want to try overclocking.

THX for the fast reply ;)

but from what I've understood that the only difference in the"G" series that there's a built in graphics card?

so how about the "Q" series? what r there differences from the "P" series?
and which one is the best for a gaming pc?

THX :)

I recommend the p45 for value. If you want to spend more, that's easy. Just go for the x48 or the most expensive one you can find. I don't overclock, so the expensive boards are a waste of money for me. Decide for yourself.

Q is for business mainly so its hard to find for desktop, just forget about it,
3x series have been replaced by 4x series and only have PCI-E 1.0, 4x has 2.0.
if u want onboard graphics get a G4x,
if ur gonna have dedicated graphics get a P4x
P45 supports crossfire (not all but most MBs) and is higher end than p43(dont get p43 there only a few dollars cheaper)
