yeah, the reason I went with the 1066 ddr and nvidia instead of the 800 and ati was mainly due to past experience. my friends seemed a bit happier with their nvidia cards than I was with my ati cards. the performance of the ati cards regarding playing newer games, seemed to drop off quicker.

With the memory, I had gone down that road before, buying the slightly slower ones to save a few bucks and a year down the road, I paid for it with performance.

well if you bought the 2xxx series, then I sort of understand your reason for wanting to try nvidia, but every other series has been very good (9 series, X and x1xxx series, and today's 4xxx series). I have had a 9600pro, an x1800xt, and a 4850 and have always been pleased with every single card.
