Hello,

I was wondering if this existed:

I have a 1TB backup SATA HDD and I have it installed inside my computer. Now, I was wondering if there is a device which holds the HDD in the case but has a power switch so that I can have the drive only on when I need it. Still having the HDD in my main computer case. Not external. It would take up an optical bay from my case and hold the HDD inside with a switch on the outside.

Yes, just look for a mobile rack for SATA drives, like this one:

The key can be used to power on/off the drive.

What's even easier is to use a "green" drive - those drives automatically spin down when not used for a while, then automatically spin back up again when accessed.
