i have a nVidia Geforce 6800 Ultra 512MB PCI-Express graphics card.
Which one is better?

well thanks guys.

a point of observation: his agp card cost him $130 at best buy. i told him to get it there cause he wanted it instantly and didnt wanna wait for it being shipped forom newegg.com. i got the used 6800 for $30 yesterday at the used tech place i work at...............im gonna buy a 4350 soon!

ok then what is recommended under $40, preferably fanless but if not it must be f-ing silent im fed up wit hnoisy (used) cimputer components especially teh 6800! sounds like an a380!

The numbers no longer indicate any level of performance from gen to gen.

If you can stretch your budget to $65-70, a 4670 would be a great upgrade.

Take a quick look at the Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart.
It will give you a good run down on how different GPU's perform relative to each other.

Get a 5770 with a decent PSU. Only like $165 at newegg, it will "destroy" the 3850.

Of course if it's within your budget. Personally I wouldn't spend time buying old cars :x

no Jaguarrr, i wont spend my time getting old cars. (i know whatchu mean i nevercheck my spelling either, LOL) however, i will porbably get a 4670. on newegg.com, whats the best 4670 someone recommends, preferably passive cooling but i understand faster cards cant do that!

Powercooler and HIS both have passive 4670's for $79.99 (HIS' price is after a $20 MIR).
For $69.99 you can get a Saphire 4670 with a big and quiet active cooler.

I would probably go with the Saphire myself.
The active cooling will keep the GPU and it's RAM cooler and it costs a bit less.
