I have not upgraded/modified any software/hardware…
Is there a way to know if my GPU is bad ?
I am using XP 32Bit and the GPU is 256MB 9800XT

Things I have done to rectify the problem:
1] Removed and re-installed the GPU from mobo
2] Checked all the connection
3] Tried with my another spare HD (Same problem)

PS: Can it be a problematic PSU ?

i am going to go with heat..... find out what your temps

if you think it is a PSU problem please post all your rig specs because there is no way i can answer that question without even knowing what your PSU is

i know the 9800xt has a fan, get a can of compressed air and clean it... you might see dust

its an old card, it might actually be dying... a card from this year will destroy a 9800xt though

Is there really no way to tell if there is fault with GPU for sure?
No software or anything to detect ?
