Dell inspiron m5010 on win xp

Hello ,I have somehow installed win xp and its drivers on my dell inspiron m5010 laptop . the only problem is the battery gives only 2 hrs of backup under win xp ..where it gives 3.5 hrs under win 7...any word of advice to increse my battery performence on win xp

start, control panel, display, screen saver, power settings, set power optimization to: minimum usage
don't know if this will drive you nuts once you set it, but you can always change it back
