My dads old CRT went pink long time ago, it was a problem with the monitor, don't remember how it was fixed though... :/

In the old days, yellow usually meant a pin was bent on the cable plug.

The monitor on one of my analyzers goes yellow when the VGA plug is loose. Too lazy to remove the broken thumb screws that hold it in.

A loose cable will get you various colors depending on which pins aren't connecting

Yeah, try disconnecting the video cable at both ends, then reconnect.

Had a strange issue last week with my 26" NEC. At 1920 x 1200 I would get a black border around a distorted screen. Lower resolutions worked fine though. Played with the cable and everything was fine.
