Please help to build a 2-way SLI system based on 2 nVidia 280 GPUs. The CPU should be Intel.
What should be the Motherboard and RAM to keep the system stable and give high performance?
Not interested in overclocking just need a stable system.

The 790i is the cream of the sli crop. Make sure you have at least bios PO4 or better before doing much with it.

Q9450 for the quad side, OC'd to 3.4 easily. Or the 8500 for the dual core side and take her to 4 or so. Faster for current games and such right now, till the multi threaded apps hit.

Thanks guys!

I'm planning to get a Core 2 Duo E8600 CPU. Regarding the mobo and ram I think about these options:

Motherboard
ASUS Striker II Extreme LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131274
OR
EVGA 132-YW-E179-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i SLI FTW
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813188028

RAM
OCZ Intel Extreme Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820227339

do you think the system will work stable? I have heard about lots of problems with 790i, SLI and RAMs..
