Using power fan connector to case fan?

Hi!
I wonder if it´s recommendable to connect a case fan to the power fan connector on the MB (in my case an Asus P5B-E). That would make it possible for SpeedFan to se the fan.
Any suggestions?

It is likely to work OK, but be careful not to exceed the power limit (amps) of the motherboard connector so you don't damage the transistor powering that connector. Your MB manual should list the max power supplied by the connector, and you fan should list its power draw.
