My computer has four slots for expansion.

1 PCI E x16
1 PCI E x1
2 PCI

The x16 will obviously go to the graphics card.

I currently have a legacy sound card and a gigabit Ethernet card occupying the two PCI slots.

I want to add a TV tuner to the computer but I don't know which card will benefit most from the faster PCI E x1 interface.

Do I buy a PCI E x1 TV tuner card and be done with it?

Or do I buy a PCI TV tuner card and a PCI E x1 sound card or PCI E x1 gigabit Ethernet card?

Which of these three cards would benefit most from PCI E x1 increased bandwidth?

Opinions are greatly appreciated!

The TV tuner would probably benifit the most, especially HD signals.

While I have no benchmarks or evidence to back it up, logically, I'm with gamerk

In order of which will benefit the most from PCIe:
-TV Tuner
-Gbps Ethernet
-Sound Card

Surely a board with PCI-E has gigabit ethernet already built-in, no?

alot of p4/p4d boards and most older athlon boards (socket 939 and below) dont have gige but have pci-e x16 slots.

it wasnt till the athlon x2 and core2 chips that gige really became standard.

but to echo everyone else. the tv tuner is priority 1, next is nic and then sound.
