With a lot of OC'ing going on with these i7 chips, A lot of coolers are also being used. I just wanted to start a thread that would be helpful in regards to OC temps and what COOLERS everyone is using to achive them. This would also be helpful to anyone trying to decide what heatsink to go with. If everyone can post their specs and results, we may be able to get a nice little Cooler info thread going :hello:

I have a
i7 860 @3.36ghz
Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus
all stock voltage
29-31C idle 67-69c full load p95
Antec 902 case.

frostytech.com has lots of tests, ratings and information on coolers

I built an i5-750 recently. I wanted to use a Xig Dark Knight but couldn't get one so I bought the 1284 and 1156 bracket. At 3.2GHz, max temp was 57 during prime95. At 3.5GHz max temp was 63 during prime95.

I know. I was going to go with the Prolimatech Mega but since this CM Hyper 212+ got so many great reviews and was only $28. Its just what i need! (I don't plan on doing any heavy OC'ing) Problem is that im getting high temps in comparison???(suppose to be in the mid to high 50's) So i wanted to compare it to others and see if it was all just hype or if its just me...?
If anyone can help me, please do! Thanks.
Ive reseated in the N/S and E/W positions with Arctic Silver 5. Same results...?? Is it possible that my chip is just running hot? Does that happen?? Also my MB is a Gigabyte P55-UD4P and is stable @3.36 14hrs in prime95. Just hot 69-66-67-67. Ambient 21c.
