My current setup consist of two really nice 17inch ViewSonics crts that i have been using for the last 6 years. Im about to upgrade and join the modern monitor world and get an Lcd , whats a good size Monitor for my setup ? You see the thing is , since i have always had 17 inch monitors and have always had good video cards and im use to maxing out my settings and playing everything with all the eye candy on and I would like this trend to continue so what would be a good screen size for my current card ? Also could you guy suggest some brands I have no idea who to look at for my monitor brand , viewsonic , LG , samsung , BenQ at one point i was even looking at Acer !!! Im in canada and these are the places i will be ordering from.
Ps just so you guys know i Play Cod4 , unreal 3 and quake 4
22" wide, 1680 x 1050. Thats about the "limit" before you start feeling single cards stress. 1680 x 1050 is also the point where Crossfire/SLi become usefull, anything under that and the results are preety worthless. As in not worth it at all.

COD4 and Quake 4 won't tax your 9800 until you get to 1920X1080. There I agree with the above poster, get atleast a 22" monitor.
At your current resolution the games will run very CPU intensive and you might have slow down.
Samsung for quality, Hanns-G if you want a great median between quality and a realistic price. For me, the miniscule better quality of the 22" Samsung at $430 wasnt worth it over the 22" Hanns-G 22" @ $200 I have. HP's are also good.
