So I'm looking to build a new gaming rig. By no means does it need to be top of the line. I am looking to spend around $1200 for the complete system including tower, keyboard, mouse, monitor give or take one hundred.

Here is what I have so far:

mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model 996587 - Retail
$82.99

$174.99

$23.99

2x PNY VCG88512GXEB-FLB GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

$110.99 each for a total of $221.98

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
$74.99

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model HH80562PH0568M - OEM
$184.99

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
$79.99

for a total of $958.91

What do you guys think?

I want a system that can handle crysis, starcraft 2, diablo 3, etc.

Any way to make this cheaper or to make it better for the same price?

Try to steer clear from Rosewill power supplies, they are known to be junk. I will be assuming that you can be a little flexible with the budget, but if it's not possible, then let me know and I'll help you cut corners.

It's about $1370, but after rebates you get it for slightly above $1300 (You can only cash in one of the rebates of the Gigabyte cards), definitely A LOT more powerful than a 8800GT SLI build.
