Hi,

I have a Toshiba Laptop, I upgraded to 4 GB of ram it used to show me 4 GB before but now the windows XP only detects 3 GB. The below are my configurations

Core 2 Duo Processor T5550 Processor
Intel Mobile 965 GM chipset
(2 x 2 GB) PC5300 RAM
Windows XP x64 Professional (64 bit Edition with service Pack 2)

My Bios detects 4 GB of RAM, I also dual boot Vista Home Premium 32 bit which also detects 4 GB of RAM. I am not able to figure what the problem is. Cpu Z also detects 4 GB in Windows XP x64.

Help would be great. Thank You.

Windows XP 32-bit will usually not recognize more then 3.0GB to 3.25GB of memory.
So I'm guessing Vista 32-bit is the same.

Are you sure you are using Windows XP x64 (64-bit) and not Windows XP 32-bit?
