You are usually safe for several months. They want you to come back to
the game. The safest place for storage is on your character or in the
bank. Houses need maintennance. Yes, you can dump lots of credits into
one, but there's a few other problems. If you leave the game for too
long, they will undeed your house, which will result in everything being
destroyed.

That much said, two months is usually safe. But eventually, they will
implement their threatened "character cleanup", and you want to avoid
those bad effects.

Hey, if you have JTL, you can store a lot of stuff on your Yacht! (I think
of mine as my RV!), also, Your fellow guildies will probably help store your
stuff in the guildhall, guild warehouse, etc.

Keep credits in bank. Keep all important items on person - maximize with an
equipped backpack. Keep extra items in safety deposit box. Do not keep
anything in house but if you have to make sure there is plenty of
maintenance on your house. Also, you may want to give house admin rights to
someone else and they can keep an eye on it and maintenance.

If you launch to space you can walk around in it. The item capacity is
the same as the small round Naboo house, 100.
