No sound from my remote desktop

I have a winfast xp2000 tv card set up at home and it works fine, but my remote desktop is connected by ethernet cable. I would like to watch tv while doing some office work but I have a problem the video comes through ok but there is no sound i am running xp +series2 update and have setup computer as remote desktop any ideas to help me on my way
