Can i put a PC5300 DDR2 instead of PC8500 DDR2??

Recently I bought myself a new motherboard and while reading the specifications from the manual, i found a disappointing fact that PC8500 DDR2 1066Mhz, can be used only with a quad core CPU. I am going to put on it a AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+, so i don`t know what to do!!! Can somebody suggest me anything about this or just about if putting a PC5300 DDR2 instead of PC8500 won`t hurt my MB.

That`s the fact, i will use a dual core CPU and i did not know of it support PC8500 DDR2, there is written that only quad core CPU`s can support these types of RAM! Thank`s a lot for your info, it really helped me!!!! Sorry for may bad English, i`m from Romania!!!
