More Information

Hello, I've been looking around... and I need to build a computer for about $300 for a friend (i'm not making any profit on this one). I already have a usable hard drive, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but I need everything else including OS, (which needs to be Windows XP Home anyway).

Ideally 2GB of DDR2
Windows XP Home
1 DVD Drive that can read anything besides blu-ray (its kinda a media computer)
Doesn't matter which processor, as long as its better then a 667Mhz Pentium 3 lol
No specific features on the motherboard, though the entire computer needs to last a long time, which means no ECS hehe.

Thanks.

If it works, leave it alone.

I think there's deals on Frys as well you can check (if there's a frys around your area) that have pretty cheap motherboard/cpu combos (cheaper than Newegg) with pretty reliable components as well.

http://www.frys-electronics-ads.com/ Here's where I check sometimes.
