Does blue screen of death on vista damage the hard drive

Can someone present any stats on how a blue screen of death in vista or win 7 damages the hard drive physically? I heard it is bad, but how bad is it really?

It not a virus, its just a way for the computer to tell you that something is horribly wrong. :)

It doesn't damage the hard drive. It can corrupt the data on the hard drive, but that is very different from physical damage to the disk. Data corruption is nothing to take lightly - it can cause you to have to reinstall your OS - but it does not damage the hard drive.
