While i was building a computer, i decided to give it the first power test, while only having cpu, mobo, and ram installed. At the first go it was ok but no sound came out. im not sure i put all cables (the pwr sw, reset btn, the small cables) the right way. later on when i did fix the sound, the mobo started giving off smoke. now the light turns on then instantly off. PLZ HELP (if you need more info, ask)

If there's smoke, you've definitely shorted something out. Don't try to fix it yourself, or you might void the warranty (it it's still covered).

Yikes your motherboard is smoking? That's a bad thing.

It might not be your fault, but it probably is. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you have some off-brand piece of junk PSU as well?
