Hi I have a 550vx with 41A on the +12, and I just got a 3870x2 (btw, totally raped my 8800 on high res in clear sky), reading about how it got max around 220W (18.3A)... but when I pulled up gpu-z (v2.8) it shows the current fluctuating between 25 and 35 amps when it's at full load. which would imply 300 - 420W which I don't really believe even though I know it's a power hog.

What's your opinion? could this be possible?

I'm monitoring my other voltages on the board with Hardware Monitor, but it's just sitting there, so I don't think it's doing anything... lol

Oh, and there's this VDDC voltage of 1.3125 in GPU-Z, anyone know why it's there and what it's useful for?

I would really like to avoid burning my computer/house down because of this, so any any help would be appreciated.

PS:

I gota tell ya, this x2 isn't half bad and if you're looking for something in the $160's I would take this over the 8800, but if you have the opportunity to SLI, I wouldn't glance another look towards the x2... I think I will sell this and do the SLI myself, even thought I have to spend an extra dollar or two on upgrading mobo/etc.

EDIT:

Ok, well I poked around a while last night, and this is what I found...
The voltage reading on GPU-Z is actually for the gpu usage of the hard, hence when it shows 35A it's 35*1.3V for the gpu power usage...

It doesn't include the memory I guess because the card is rated at way higher power consumption than that.

Anyone know a good prog. for the total power consumption?
