TS-L632H ATA DVD RW abruptly quit working on Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop (Vista Home). Device shows to be present and drivers good and says device is working. When I put any kind of dvd in drive and click on drive letter it rejects disk and "put disk in drive" comes up. I think this may be due to a Virtual Box Guest Additions software I instaled just before problem started. This software initially caused boot problems.

Delete the problem software, and system restore.

If that dont work Google upper and Lower filters fix.

Do a system restore to a point before you installed the software. If the drive works, great.

If you need that software. See if you can find an updated firmware and/or driver for you drive.

If you can't, try and find a better software program that won't screw up your machine with an instal
