How to write to a write protected dvd

dvd can be written to in one computer but not the laptop.. ??? tks

2 possibilities:
1) dirty lens or bad laser
2) Not all CD/DVD ROMs and writers can read/write all media brands. It sounds like your laptop DVDwriter cannot recognize that brand of DVD media. Some CD/DVD ROM/writer mfrs. provide firmware updates that accommodate more brands of media.
