Your problem is not very detailed.

What operating system? What hardware? Is it a second hard drive? Where did you take the hard drive from? Is it a USB drive?

There are so many possibilities - please be detailed, so we can help.

If it's a pen drive:

Some drives have a switch on them to lock it.

I've ran into a problem like that, and could not fix it untill i formatted it, with a USB pen drive tool.
