If you have 6 slots, can you put 2 gig sticks in three of them and 1 gig sticks in the other 3 or do they all have to be the same??

Thanks for your help!

I would download the board manual off the manufacturer's website for memory recommendations. It only takes 3 minutes. Every board is a little different; the website lists tested brands and serial numbers, while the manual gives you configurations.

Must you have a stick in all the three triple channel slots or can you leave one or two slots empty?

I want to get 4 Gigs for Intel Dx850 for Core i7 and it has one single channel slot and three triple ones. Can I use two 2GB sticks in the triple slots leaving one free?
