Hi guys,

I need your opionions and expertise. My system:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, E4500 OC 2.99
GPU: eVGA GeForce 8800 GTS (SC)
PSU: Enermax INFINITI 650
RAM: Corsair 2x1GB DDR2, 667MHz
HDD: Western Digital Raptor X 150GB x2
OS: MS Vista Ultimate, 64 bit
Display: Samsung 245BW

I am debating on buying my friends card (8800 gts 320 sc) for $75 and going SLI or go with the 9800 gx2.

What would I gain if I chose one or the other? Would it be a huge difference?

Please note I am planning on building a new system sometime next year (probably summer) and would need my current system to be able to get by with farcry2 and crysis until then.

I know this is my first post on the forum and I should have takent he time to introduce myself, but I have a limited amount of time to decide if I want the 8800 or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

well the 8800 GTS 320 is out performed most of the time by the 9600 GT 512 (which kills the 320 with AA).

The 9600 GT sli is slower than 8800 GT sli, and 8800 GT sli is slower than the 9800 GX2:)

so your getting alot of performance out of 1 card, more than 2 8800 GTS 320s and also not have to occupy 2 slots. Plus it runs on the more energy efficient G92 chip:)

Basically if you have 8800gt o/c version in Sli mode its the same as a 9800gx2 as all the 9800gx2 is 2 9800gt stuck togeather
And basically a 9800gt is the same as the 8800gt

actually no, the GX2 is 2 underclocked 8800 GTS or 9800 GTX

8800 GTS 650

9800 GTX 675

9800 GX2 600

The 8800 GT is slower because it has less Stream processors than all the above cards.

the 8800 GT sli has 2x's 112 the GX2 has 2 x's 128

The 8800 GT sli has 2x's 56 texture units vs GX2 has 2 x's 64
