At work I have my PC using a wireless device to get on the local network to print and get to the internet. I am in a machine shop and running a cable is not practical. The wireless gets an IP Address from the firewall (DHCP) the sub net is 192.168.1.
The problem came when we got a new CNC machine.
The new machine required me to setup a FTP server on my PC (XPPro) then I used an old Linksys router to connect the PC and the CNC machine to each other with Cables. I download programs from the FTP on the PC into the Macines Dataserver. I turned off DHCP in the Linksys router. I use a static IP address for the CNC Machine and the Wired network connection at the PC. I used a different SUBNET for the the cabled connections 172.168.1
My problem is when I have the RJ45 cable connected to the PC so I can transfer programs to the CNC machine, Network Places and my web browser stops using the wireless connection (no more internet and printing). If I disconnect the cable it goes back to using the wireless device.
Is there a way to use both connections?
