G skill ddr2 1000

I currently have this memory set to 1066. Here are my specs.

MB - P5E flashed to Rampage Bios

CPU - q6600 quad

Graphics - evga gts 250 1gb


My memory defaults to 800. I have read that this ram is really just 800mhz ram overclocked to 1000mhz. I have it set to 1066 and was wondering is there any reason to try and get it higher? Are there any negatives for running it past 1066 if it's not designed to?

Also one other question I had was that the memory runs at 1066 1.8v no problem but on the box it states that its meant to run 2.0 - 2.1 should I go ahead and set it to those? Or just leave it at 1.8 since it works fine there?

If you're not having any RAM problems, leave it alone. You're getting better performance than G. Skill promised you'd get.
