Hi all,
The following is the case:
Just bought myself a new rig
Specs:
Asus P5Q-Pro (crossfire) mobo
Intel Core2Quad Q9550 12MB (boxed)
Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870x2 PCI-E
2x 2GB DDR2/800mhz
S-ATA-2 Maxtor 200GB
IDE DVD Pioneer rewriter
Coolermaster Mystique medium tower (2 fans)
I booted up Asus PC Probe 2, and it immediately rang an alert, saying my Motherboard is overheating.
Checked, temp sits around 45 - 40C degree, while just idle-ing in windows and browsing / msn'ing a bit.
The quadcore sits around 25-30C degree, which seems pretty acceptable imo.
Is this too hot?, when I check inside my tower, it actually feels kinda cold
The thing that does get pretty warm is my videocard, while im not even playing a game.
Should I be worried? or is this normal for my type of motherboard.
Could it maybe be that the mobo temp sensor is right under the PCI-E slot?
Im kinda worried that if its allready 50 at idle, it will melt my graphics card or something.
