Ok on other threads people have posted pretty much that you cant upgrade a laptop's graphics card, but I've seen things like
http://www.pcworld.com/article/148 [...] _card.html that really suggest that you can. So I am wondering if I can pretty much perform surgery on my computer, which is a Hp Special Edition dv2700 Notebook PC with a AMD Turion 64x2 TL-60 Processor (2.0GHZ) (also have 4gig ram and 64-bit OS). My current card is a crappy nvidia 7150M card that is horrible since I play WoW and maybe Warhammer soon. Any help appreciated before I just break open my laptop and see whats inside.
Some laptops have a removable video card. These tend to be more expensive gaming/desktop replacement laptops. You should find that most of the cheaper models tend to have the GPU soldered to the board just like any other chip. If your GPU shares system ram for its memory, chances are 100% that you can't remove it.
Do some research on your laptop, but odds are high that you can't replace it.

Really? Hmm. Thats odd because in this video http://revver.com/video/377211/how [...] ideo-card/ I do not think that the Dell laptop is that nice. Definetly not over 1500. I, of course, could be wrong because I am not that tech savy, Im only 16, but if thats the case, what can i do to improve my graphics card performance (besides turning down resolutions in gaming)?
Turn down the "physics" settings in games.
Also turn down the Object amount/ quality. Then crank the texture settings. And a small hit to the shaders setting will give you a huge boost usually.
BTW, most 8800s and 9800s are removable. If the lappy has sli/crossfire, they are usually removable. 8600m gts and 2600/3650s are not removable.
so turn down things like "environmental detail" and "shadow quality" and then up the Terrain detail, texture resolution/filtering, and view distance? (and yes i play wow)
woah crap. i didn't know you had a 7150. Not many games are playable on that card. Especially since that a "integrated" graphics solution. "Dedicated" graphics are the ones remotely capable of gaming.
Ok, first things first. Resolution. I haven't played Wow. ever. so i am not savvy on all of the options.
turn your resolution down the most you can stand.
Second, the less models, the better. So turn your environmental detail to the lowest settings.
Actually, skip this. Turneverything off or low and move up from there. I assume you know of Fraps? Turn everything off and run fraps and turn stuff up until you get under 35 frames.
I have the 6150 in my old laptop and the only games i could play were GTA LC and half life 2 at the lowest details.
