This is really annoying.

I just sold my mums computer to someone on eBay - it was working perfectly with no history of problems the day it was sent off.

The day he receives it he plugs it in and gets messages such as:

"please insert boot device"
"reboot and select proper boot device"
"insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key"

The computer was sold for £350 - £35 for eBay's rip off 10% fee and cost £40 to post. Which means if I can't find out what's wrong with it I'm going to have to pay £40 for him to post it back and putting me out of pocket for a nice £75 for pure hassle.

If anyone could shed some light on the situation it would save me a lot of time and money!

Cheers

Yup check connections, then make sure the boot order has the main HDD as the first boot device.
