I'd have to agree, mobile digital video is baud better spent on mobile
digital audio. This demand (digital radio) has been addressed (DAB, IBOC,
XM, Sirius) but not properly (CD Quality) and has done nothing but
disappoint audiophiles like me.

Mobile radio, I think there's a demand for it. ;-)

Yep; and they are about to deliver multi-channel OTA and from the sky. But
if they start compressing and limiting and EQing the heck out of the music
like they have done on analog AM and FM I will not listen!

Agreed, but if you're talking about XM or Sirius your too late. I, on
occasion, give both a listen to at the local stores (Wal-Mart & Best Buy)
only to leave when I get discusted with the compression artifacts. I only
last around 15 seconds and think "no thanks."

XMRadio and Sirius have about 4 Mbps of capacity in which to deliver
what a 100 programs? Our mobile TV plan includes 6 digital radio
programs using almost 500 Kbps.

I did the math and 500Kbps/6 stations=83kbits. Audiophile Drewdawg says
"Come back when you can do better than FM quality."

Depends on what your using. We plan on using MPEG-4 HE-AAC + Parametric
Stereo and statistical multiplexing which would guarantee at least 96
Kbps per program channel. I think that will suffice.

Maybe you are figuring MPEG-1 and 83 Kbps.

What the Hell is "parametric stereo"?

To me "stereo" means two INDEPENDANT schannels so that phase clues
allow the localization of instruments on a soundstage.
