I recently purchased this pc http://www.gateway.com/product_spec.php?product_recid=529668104 and was looking to do a bit of gaming on it.. nothing too extreme just 1024x768 at normal/high settings with most games but namely unreal tournament 3. I went ahead and ordered a radeon 3870 and was unaware of the wimpy 300 watt psu that came stock with this machine, the 3870 requires 450 watts minimum so it wouldn't be a good idea to put the card into this machine with that psu. anyways, now I'm forced to either sacrifice a bit of performance and get a hd3650 that has a 300 watt minimum requirement, or possibly upgrade my psu.. what I want to know is what kind of psu will work in my machine? I don't know too much about power supplies and am no PC guru but I'm looking for something cheap that will get the job done.. if nobody can help me I think I'm just going to settle for a 3650, and another question while I'm here.. is there anything better than a 3650 that would work with my current psu?

thanks for your help!

First you probably want to make sure that the motherboard has a 16xPCI-e slot as it wouldnt suprise me if it didnt.

2nd i wanna make sure their was sufficient room for whatever card your putting in there. IE measure from backplate inline with the 16x slot till you hit something and compare to GPU

You wont get much out of the 3650... 3xxx series is old gen now, HD4850 should be in your price range if not 4830.

3rd measure the PSU in the box currently and make sure its dimensions are close with the below suggestions that will power any of those cards i mentioned. Sometime gateway, HP, Dell etc make their psus smaller than normal.
