Maxtor personal storage 3200

Hello,
Plugged in the Maxtor PS 3200... sounds like it is working & the icon shows up on my desktop. Problem is, every time I try to copy info to it, it says that the device cannot be modified. Help!

Do you really mean the Icon is on your desktop or is it in "my computer"?
