Printer spooler service stopped

Hello,
I have tried to install CD room of Canon printer (PIXMA MP270), but only saw the error message, [processing cannot be continued beause the print spooler service has been stopped.] I refer to this error to Canon,and heard that [Print Spooler is a Microsoft service that runs in the background of the computer. If you are having an error with it you may need to call Microsoft to find a resolution.]
Please help me ASAP.

Can't you just net start spooler from the cmd?

The Canon rep was correct, it is a windows service. Here's how you start it:
start-->run-->type services.msc and press enter-->scroll down the list of services until you see the print spooler service-->right click on it and click start.

Just wanted to let you know that this post helped me loads! I'd been messing around and down loading the same driver for two days just to get the same error message as above. so i Googled it and one of the hits was this page two minuets later im doing exactly what you say tot do and with in ten minutes my drivers are in stalled and im printing like there's no tomorrow lol
All i can say is thank you.
