hi,

i have recently bought a nvidia geforce 9800 gt and am having problems. i have slotted it in but there is a cable with 2 3 pin adapters and i have no where to plug them in. i have a dell dimension 5100. any help would gratefully received.

Your 5100 most likely has the 305 watt power supply, which is a bit old and lite for the 9800GT, and it sounds as though you have no free 4 pin connectors to use with the adapter.
Buy a new power supply, you can use almost any standard ATX unit, here's one option
