I am currently running 2x 2x1gb set's of crucial BalistX, and for some reason i can run 100% stable for some reason. I have tried a million different voltages and latency. They are all good sticks but for some reason i can not get them in a copisteic arrangement. Therefore i am opting for a ram upgrade/fix. I have been looking at a lot of ram and i have noticed that even though it is still the most needed ram ddr2 is dieing out. and shot from buying corsair dominator i cant find much for price/performance until i found
They have good reviews and they would look great in my all green case but before i go ahead and place the order i want to run it by those with more experience then me. Also the gree USB drive is nice what i realy like is the free vantage because i already have a 16 gig patriot Xporter.
Get DDR2-800 that will run on the JEDEC standard 1.8V. Mushkin and A-Data are two manufacturers I've used; I prefer Mushkin.
You quite possibly have a vDroop issue. 4x1GB is more likely to experience that than 2x2GB.
G.Skill 4GB DDR2-800 Kit (F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ) - One of our favorite "budget" 4GB kit comes from G.Skill and features 5-5-5-15 timings at 1.8V. Featuring a $40 street price, this kit is compatible with every motherboard we have thrown at it in the labs. While not a kit designed for overclocking, we were able to get an absolutely stable 4-5-4-15 timings at DDR2-800 with 2.0V and a final clock speed of DDR2-960 at 5-5-5-15 on 1.95V.
As for the Baliastix, yeah I feel your pain. The Ballastix used to be THE best a year or two ago, but they are lacking in quality now. The Ballastix DDR2 1066 has SO many problems.
