I have spent the last two weeks doing just about nothing but searching everything I can think of to solve my problem (obviously to no avail). Two weeks ago I built myself a new system which worked perfectly for 2 days until my computer decided to only recognize half of each of my memory sticks. Here is my system:
MSI P43 NEO3-F motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2.40Ghz
2 sticks of Kingston KHX8000 2GB Hyper-X memory
NVIDIA 9800GT 1028MB Video
So the issue: my bios and then of course windows (64 bit Vista, home Premium) only recognize 1024mb of each stick of ram. I have tried cleaning, reseating, using one stick at a time, none of which changes anything. I cannot find a memory remapping option anywhere in my bios and really am at my wit's end. It is just strange because when I first put the computer together it saw all 4GB of ram, but at some point it just stopped (i only noticed when my games started lagging).
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Amy
