So I just updated to a new Asus mobo, and a Phenom II X4 945 3.0 ghz and have done some cooling work to the case and after market cooler on the chip. I have decided I would like to do my first overclock on a CPU. The motherboard comes with programs to do overclocking on the chip from in WIN7, but I feel this is not the right way to do it. I would like to do it in the BIOS the correct way. I just want to bring my chip up from 3.0 ghz to 3.2 ghz, and was wondering if anybody could link how to do it or would not mind posting how to takes these steps since this is my first time. Thanks again Tom's Community u guys rock!!!!

I assume you know how to get around your bios, right?
good.

Since the 945 is a BE and has an unlocked multiplier you should just find and raise the cpu ratio by 1.

I think it should be stable with defualt voltage- its only 200 mhz.
but maybe im wrong.
