Just double checking to see if this build is compatible. Trying to keep everything around $1500 including software (Windows Vista, Antivirus, and Office).

Here's a list of hardware components:

LIAN LI PC-8B Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $119

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $80

GIGABYTE GV-R487-512H-B Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - $270

CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - $109

CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5 - $70

DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2RB LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - $175

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - $170

SAMSUNG 2253BW Black 22" 2ms(GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor - $270

Really my main question is whether its all compatible. Is the case adequately sized for the hardware? I'd probably prefer to stick to the monitor as I tend to drift towards namebrands, but if anyone has any suggestions there I'm willing to listen to cut down as much as possible. Can I improve anywhere without much hike in cost? Should I cut anything unnecessary? Let me know your thoughts. This will primarily be used as a gaming PC but also for potential work at home (hence why I need office).

Thanks a bunch.

Do you plan to overclock?

No. I might add a graphics card down the line when the single doesn't carry its weight anymore, but thats about it. No overclocking intended.

I would consider the 1GB model of the 4870 for $30 more. This one also includes a better cooler:

POWERCOLOR AX4870 1GBD5-PPH Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

Otherwise, good job. Nice build!

Don't forget a 64-bit OS to use all 4GB of RAM.
